Big updates
Well it's been a crazy past few weeks in the Joiner household. I've landed a new job as a Product Manager with the federal government in the Baltimore area and I'm currently negotiating the finer details of pay/leave accrual. I'm sure I'll share more specifics of this once I've formally accepted the finalized job offer and have been in the role for a week or two. I've been interested in the federal government and politics since Jr. High/High School, and minored in political science. This is a big deal for me, and the role I'm taking is a highly consequential one. After seven years in big tech, this feels like a refreshing next step -- a more mission-driven role while further refining my Product Manager chops at a scale close to or exceeding what I was doing at the big G.
In Hudley Holdings world, I've just been accepted into the Claude for Startups program! This is a major deal for me and lets just say tokens won't be a limiting factor anymore. I've launched several apps since my last post and have a few still in app review purgatory. Not everyone can have Sundar Pichai push the approval along.New apps:
Mower Mogul - heavily inspired by Tiny Wings, although the gameplay is totally different. I wanted a super simple app that is ZEN. I think I've done that, but will keep iterating. Game dev is much harder than utilities, etc.
Restava - sleep app. Breathing exercises, white noise, rain sounds, et al.
Coming soon: Bible for Me: Audio Bible for Android, News App for iOS (companion app to the Mac version I launched a few months back).
Bible for Me: Audio Bible for iOS has been absolutely crushing it. People love the app, and are purchasing annual and monthly subscriptions at a high rate. I keep adding features every week or two. I just shipped a new narrator powered by Qwen Audio 2.1, and a big 'facelift'. Here's a look at the current state of things:
As AI models keep improving at an insane rate, I envision the future of Hudley Holdings as a near-automated software factory that I command from my phone and in brief check-ins on desktop/laptop every now and then to review deliverables and regroup on strategy. It sounds ridiculous, but I'm literally laying the groundwork for it. Just this week, I launched a new HudleyOS page/database on Cloudflare for my internal project tracking - bugs/FRs/tasks. It's agent first with an API that any agent can use. Claude Code, my Muse agent - both can help manage it.
That's all for now!
